About Us

We are an independent studio creating games focused on alternative movements, marginalized groups, and counter-cultures.

Our games aim for strong immersion through tight, purposeful storytelling, carefully treated subjects, impactful sound design, and gameplay systems that directly support the core theme. We favor dystopian, alternate, or reimagined timelines and spaces for our games settings.

Our artistic direction embraces punk methods and unconventional production choices, both visually and structurally.

Teknopolis

In Teknopolis, become an organizer of clandestine parties. Build collectives, explore a dystopian megacity, recruit DJs, find locations, and gather equipment while defying the authority of the system. Teknopolis is an immersion into the underground free-party scene and its culture.

UI update
The user interface of Teknopolis is getting a glow-up !

The early version was just a mean to an end to prototype the general backbone of the game and it's interactions. Now that we're at far enough point it's time to reimagine the Ui to implement it !

The 2 main visual directions are "black and white contrast" and "captivating outlines". Both find their inspiration in the bold and radical visuals of free parties flyers.

See you next time, stay out of the box, stay punk !

Ressources and movement
Did we tell you how important resources are in our game?

There's actually only one kind of resource and you do everything with it: paying for equipment, convincing DJ's to join your collective, and even explore the city! About that, movement is finally implemented, click on a resource and you can move as many tiles as the number written on the resource: walk along the road, climb the stairs to reach the roof, cross high bridges or go inside tunnels! Hopefully you'll make interesting discoveries that will help you in your quest to throw free parties...

We also thought a lot about what our resources could look like. Dices? Cards? Those do not really resonate with the theme of Teknopolis... Thus our choice to make them cans! We can't wait to work on their design to really make them pop.

See you next time, stay resourceful, stay punk !

Getting our hands dirty
Hey there ! Things are getting pretty concrete around here.

After a lot of theory to make sure we share a united vision of the project, we’ve started to create the first bricks of the game (figuratively but also literally) Alice is refining the artistic direction and creating the textures, Lucas uses them to model the first blocks that will compose the city and Galilée is working on the movement mechanic. Feels good to actually start creating and see it comes into place !

See you next time, stay crafty, stay punk !

Enjmin Game Conferences !
This week, we had the opportunity to go to the Cnam-Enjmin school in Angouleme, France where we listened and met many actors of the gamedev industry. It was very inspiring to learn how these creators brought their vision to life !

We had the honor to talk to Manon and Guille, aka Selkie Harbor, the team behind Many Nights a Whisper and Virtue and a SledgeHammer. In addition to being really nice people, they were enthousiasts about alternative visuals use in games and are eager to see what we will create in the next few months !

See you next time, stay hopeful, stay punk !

Prototyping with cards and paper
We recommend anyone trying to create a playable experience to test it as soon as possible, paper, cards, dices, anything you got. This will make it easier to tweak your game, spot grey areas, aknowledge what's fun and what's not. So that's what we did today ! We're now aware that the range at which you unveil the fog of war influences a lot the player's next move. Age of empires players will know, it's important to scout dark areas of the map as soon as possible ;)

See you next time, stay open to change, stay punk !

Hello World !
This is the start of everything, the studio, the website, our first game !

We've been working hard these past few days to create this project. We are all studying Immersive Experience Design at Gobelins / Cnam-Enjmin and this project was initially a school project. I am currently writing this in my classroom, after a long day of prototyping, planning, reading, researching, kebab eating, etc... But we're having a lot of fun and we can't wait to show you more !

See you next time, stay free, stay punk !
